Fresh Tomato Basil Pasta Sauce with Linguine
Easy to serve, fresh tomatoes and basil make this a classic pasta sauce for summertime. The sweet fragrance that results while cooking makes the house smell great, too!

Ingredients
- 8 ounces Luxury Linguine
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-1/2 pounds plum tomatoes, coarsely chopped
- 2 cups loosely packed fresh basil, chopped
- 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper (optional)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Freshly ground black pepper to taste
Directions
- Cook pasta according to package directions.
- Heat oil in large skillet over medium-high heat. Add garlic; stirring constantly, cook 1 minute. Stir in tomatoes and bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 5 minutes, stirring occasionally or until sauce thickens slightly. Stir in basil, vinegar, salt and crushed red pepper. Spoon over linguine.
- Sprinkle with cheese and pepper.
