Fettuccine with Sausage Mushroom Tomato Cream Sauce

Serves 5

Ingredients
  • 16 ounces Luxury Fettuccine
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 1 pound Italian sausage, cooked, sliced (optional)
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 3/4 cup white wine
  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh basil
  • 2 cups spaghetti sauce
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Directions
    1. Cook pasta according to package directions.
    2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat; add garlic, sausage, mushrooms and wine. Reduce sauce by half. Add 1/2 of basil; cook until mushrooms are tender. Add spaghetti sauce and cream; bring to a simmer and add the cooked pasta. Toss together well.
    3. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with remaining basil and grated Parmesan.
